Dear Friends,
If our salvaged kitchen table desk could talk, it would tell a story of how Claire Neubert and Linda Hamm started Shored Up LLC, a Hampton-based ecotourism business back in 2019—right before The Pandemic. Our mission was to have a new platform to inspire stewardship and show off our local environmental, historical and cultural treasures. Over the course of almost 7 years, we did our best to do just that. Our desk held papers and programs and scraps of ideas (and a few chocolates to keep us going!). It witnessed our laughter; sometimes our frustrations (maybe heard a few curse words!); our joy when our efforts surpassed expectations!
Although we were cautioned to not start a business with a friend, we did it anyway. It wouldn't be the first or last rule we broke! As a result, we also grew a deep friendship along with our business and that friendship remains today.
We didn't do it alone. We did it with you—our mentors, supporters, tour participants, friends and amazing families. You joined us in the journey and cheered us on. You helped make dreams come true and gave us so many memories of a lifetime. We are deeply grateful.
Now, we find ourselves ready to clean off our desk (for the first time in years! ha! ha!) and give our energy and attention to other aspects of our lives. Although Shored Up LLC will be put to rest, our passion for the environment still burns bright! So, we look forward to continuing the journey of caring for this precious earth with you.
