Shored Up had the honor and privilege to share our love of oysters, waterways and our environment with more than 350 students and 82 teachers from Hampton City School's 5th grade classes. This opportunity was thanks to James River Association who asked us to partner as part of a National Park Foundation "Open Outdoors for Kids" grant.
We all learned as we enjoyed the ecology, heritage and history of Fort Monroe! In the end, the students became the teachers and ambassadors for our environment. Isn't that the best?
